Getting to Know God

Today starts a video study trying to help all those that watch learn how to get to know God/Jesus in a more in-depth way.

To know God is to find the peace God sent to us thru Jesus (John 14:27).Everyone needs to take the time to start a relationship with God for Jesus challenges us with two commandments:

1. To love God
2. To love others as God loves you (Matthew 22:37-40 & John 13:34-35).

So how do you get to know someone?

• (I Corinthians 13, all with special emphasis on verses 4-7)
• Spend time with them (Matthew 4:4)
• Have a conversation
  1. God talks to you thru the Bible (Proverbs 6:21-22, Ezra 7:10, Joshua 1:8, II Timothy 3:16)
  2. You talk to God thru prayer (Philippians 4:6-7, John 15:7, Mark 11:24, Matthew 7:7-8)
  3. Share your God’s love for you and others by loving others (I John 3:18, Matthew 9:26)
  4. Combine Purposes with God – care about God’s role in the world around you and try to share that with ALL you meet
  5. Have Faith in the relationship enough to get “married” to God. (Romans 4:20-21, Philippians 3:10-14)
  6. Share your relationship with others.  Attend Church, talk about God (Psalm 66:16)
